(Holy) Kissing and Making up...Everybody's doing it

Methodists and Catholics have (holy) kissed and made up 500 yrs after renegade Monk Martin Luther spat the dummy at the corrupt practices florishing in Catholicism and launched one of last milleniums more spectacular success stories - Protestantism (right up there with the WWW and sliced bread).

Concerned with what he saw as spiritual manipulation of the masses for political and material gain, his 95 theses was the penultimate theological 'whilstleblow' which is still hard top - even in this age of mass media and the tele-evangelist.

Hats off to the Wittenberg Door - to the real one made of wood and its online namesake still calling out shonky religious leaders today and bringing us gems such as the Gospel according to Napoleon Dynamite

Now, if we can just get the Jews and and the Palestinians together......

I am reminded of biological growth patterns of (say) fungus colonies where there are phases of growth, and then new colonies started on new foundations and the old colonies die off or change and maybe, like in this case, merge back into the colonies it formed. All the time the individuals of the colonies are largely indistinguishable from each other when examined in isolation, but take on a more distinct identity if examined in their colonial setting.
How much of church members' identities are a product more of their church's hallmarks than of their own personal contribution to life?
A case of "guilty by association"? ... or perhaps "innocent by association" ... ?

I wonder how long it will be before the government "protects" us by blocking access to sites like this?.

Its the red hair isnt it!

Yes, it is the RED hair; we can pick Commoes anywhere by their Redness. (U.S.=Commies):-)

If the religious ratbags do gain more power here then access to such sites will be banned "for the good of our souls". Funny thing, Christianity has already survived and even flourished despite two millenia of continual criticism.

Maybe its survived not despite, but precisely because of two thousand years of continual criticism.

Isnt the saying, the only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about?

Yeah, maybe you're right.
